So to make the best of a bad situation, they bend the cardboard into a man-and to their astonishment, it comes magically to life. I could feel the relationship between them was one of love, but an uncertainty of how to talk and relate to each other. The book’s best scene, for my money, is when Bill the Boxer the first of the many cardboard critters brought to life in the story wonders aloud about what part of him is cardboard and what part isn’t, and whether he has a spirit that sets him apart from other, unliving cardboard things.

Jan 20, Gaven Murray rated it really liked it. I was not disappointed. The characters in these stories create, and their creations fall and run wild. This book was just really cardboardd and the author must have had a very large imagination to think of this bizarre story.

When the tenapel is irregular, disturbed, or even completely disconnected in works such as V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and Cadrboard Lloydor, or American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang the works are more complex and difficult to read and understand. I’ll simply sum up and say this book is great and it has a solid worldview bubbling under the surface. We like everything from Literary Graphic Novels to blatantly commercial but fun!
